We are a country on the move. Many Americans moved during the pandemic-hit 2020 because they lost their jobs or were afraid of contracting the virus.
Millennials and the upper middle class are also moving. Moving and storage giant U-Haul identifies Tennessee, Texas, and Florida as the top three destinations for moving companies in 2020.
Meanwhile, cities and towns excluded from the boom are working to lure workers and families to migrate in hopes of strengthening their populations and strengthening their economies. Some dangle offers of thousands of dollars to lure workers – often workers with remote jobs.
These US cities offer financial incentives to newcomers.
