This week I published the Google Webmaster Monthly Report. This is a good place to find out about the month. Google started rolling out its third broadcast update yesterday, the December broadcast update. Google may have released another unconfirmed Google ranking update on December 1st. Google has published a detailed FAQ on the Page Experience Update and the Core Web Vitals. What is new is that this is only a ranking signal for mobile search. We also saw a possible example of the visual indicator for the Page Experience Update. Google has released a help document on how to manage the crawl budget for large websites. Google said longer anchor text wasn't better, but it might provide more context. Google News Showcase is expanding and we are getting metrics for the search console. You can create your own reports using Google Merchant Center. Google Maps has updated the messaging functions and improved the performance data. Google Maps added a community feed to the Explore tab. Google My Business updated how it is suggested. Google is testing a half-break UI. Google is testing a larger podcast carousel in search. Bing video search has a drag and drop playlist tool. I celebrated my 17th anniversary this week of writing about Search. Oh, and if you'd like to sponsor these vlogs, go to patreon.com/barryschwartz. That was the search news this week at the Search Engine Roundtable.
