Instagram has announced Instagram Live Rooms – a new way to go live on Instagram with up to 3 guests.

With the introduction of Instagram Live Rooms, brands and developers can reach new audiences, increase sales and connect with their community – all in real time.

What are Instagram Live Rooms?

Instagram live rooms You can go live with up to 3 guests, doubling the number of people you can have on your shows.

According to Instagram, Instagram Live Rooms were a "very requested update". Previously, you could only go live on Instagram with a single guest.

Instagram also notes the security measures they have taken for this update:

  • Users blocked by an attendee in an Instagram Live Room will not be able to participate in the live
  • Users whose live access has been revoked for violating community guidelines cannot join a live room
  • Live room hosts can block and report comments and apply comment filters

How to create an Instagram Live Room

Creating an Instagram live room is similar to setting one up Instagram live broadcast. Here's how:

Step 1: Open the Instagram Stories camera, and swipe to the live mode icon.

Step 2: Next, add a title for your Instagram Live Room. To do this, click the “Left Aligned” icon on the left side of the screen. Your title informs viewers of the theme of your live room and what to expect.

Step 4: Tap the Video icon to add guests to your Instagram Live Room. Here you can send requests for guests to register. You will also see people who have asked to go live with you.
