I just scanned my email for a few minutes. I thought about my most valuable asset. Time.

I don't have time to do anything other than scan emails. I'm busy writing and posting blog posts and guest posts. I respect how bloggers who are not yet professionals have all the time in the world.

Lived this life. Was this blogger. But before you send a 10 paragraph email, put yourself in the position of the professional blogger who reads it. Do you really think that a professional blogger has more than 3 seconds to scan and read your emails? Nah. He or she doesn't have that time.

With that in mind, does it make sense to waste 20 minutes writing and sending a 10 paragraph blog post size by email when someone like me has 3 seconds to scan a single email? Nah. Don't waste your time. Say it in 3-5 seconds. Or don't say it at all.

I remember hearing a top blogger speak. He receives 1000 emails a day. He only reads 1 set of emails. He erases everything else. How is that for posture what? I just replied to some emails with a "No thanks" for pitches, but only because I wanted to add a link to my eBooks. Otherwise, I ignore all flat pitches.

Nothing personal. I just don't have the time to reply to all emails and read more than 3-5 seconds of your email as I have to post 5-10 posts today. Please people; Put yourself in the position of a busy professional blogger in front of you:

  • Try to trade because you fear you may not have enough money to pay the sponsored postal fees. I spam every other barter every time, so stop wasting our time … yours and mine 🙂
  • Write and send an email with 5 to 10 paragraphs. Professionals have a few seconds to ask your pitch question. So spend a few seconds or waste 10, 20 or 30 minutes of your time

Think about it. You benefit and I benefit from spending 4 minutes scanning a series of emails. If I only spend 4 minutes scanning emails, I have 15 minutes to write and publish this helpful guest post. I gain skills, awareness and credibility as well as traffic and profit increases. You have learned an important blogging lesson.

But if I spend seconds or even minutes trading with cheap bloggers who are afraid of spending money, this 4-minute scan session becomes a 12-minute read and answer session as I try to negotiate with cheap bloggers. I also have to let go of things I've done in the past to place sponsored posts and paid guest posts.

If I cannot copy, paste and publish your contribution in 1-3 minutes, I can no longer offer you this service. Why? I have no time for that. I prefer not to double the rate to compensate for my time. Why? I prefer to spend this time and energy writing guest posts and blog posts to promote the whole thing rather than doing business for one person, for our two benefits. I intend to help 10,000 people. not 2. Do you see what I mean? Do you see how I think?
